Hello, this is Gogsic-bangul!
With the weather being so nice these days,
there are many events happening.
Let’s talk about event favors that are essential for such occasions.

Event gifts can be more than just food;
they can include items like towels, t-shirts, etc.
However, many manufactured items with event logos
tend to be discarded after a single use,
so recently, dessert gifts
that can be enjoyed lightly are becoming more popular.
As we specialize in Korean desserts,
we notice that our bulk order customers
fall into three main categories:
1. Gifts for older adults
Examples include group gifts for senior communities,
Mother's Day/holiday gifts,
and event favors for lifelong learning centers.
2. Gifts for foreigners
3. Wedding favors
(especially inquiries about
Gaeseong Juak and dried persimmon jars)

When choosing handcrafted desserts for event gifts,
there are a few crucial points to consider about the supplier!
(Today, we won’t cover taste
because it’s too fundamental!)
1. Customization Within a Fixed Budget
I think this is the most important aspect.
For large quantity orders,
budgets are usually limited,
and finding the most cost-effective supplier is a major effort!
Even if you find a place you like,
negotiating the composition and packaging
within your budget is essential.
Surprisingly, there aren’t many places like ours
that offer complete customization.

Most handmade dessert workshops have fixed items for sale,
and the box or composition units are mostly set as well.
Without extensive customization experience,
it’s challenging to meet many customers’ budgets and preferences.

For instance,
if you want to include high-cost items
like dried persimmon jars or candied fruits
but face budget constraints,
we can creatively package them in 1/2 or 1/4 sizes,
or adjust the weight and packaging
to make them visually appealing while reducing costs.

Also, when getting a quote,
make sure to check if it includes VAT (10%)!
Confirm if basic gift wrapping or fabric wrapping is included,
and how the shipping costs are handled!
1-2. Message Card Production Availability
A slightly minor but related point to 1 is
checking if message cards can be produced and if they are free.
Since these are event gifts,
it's important to know if they can make custom message tags or cards.

Our shop’s business-grade printer can print
on thick card stock without smudging,
but regular printers can only handle thin paper under 200g!

If you want to include luxurious message cards,
you'll need to print on card stock
in the high 200g or 300g range,
so be sure to ask if they can produce
high-quality, neat cards in advance!
Additionally,
for gifts intended for foreigners,
having an English manual is very useful,
but most places do not offer this.

Due to our location in Hongdae,
we have many customers looking for this,
so we always prepare English manuals.
Let us know if you need them!
2. Capability to Meet Delivery Deadlines
This is an absolutely basic requirement,
but did you know many suppliers fail to meet it..?
Since many handcrafted food suppliers are small operations
with one or two staff members,
they sometimes can't handle sudden large orders.

Recently, we fulfilled large orders for several companies,
and one contact person told us about a frustrating experience:
They had ordered handcrafted candied fruit gift sets for the holidays,
but on the day they were supposed to receive them,
they got a call in the afternoon saying
the order was out of stock and a refund would be issued.
This indicated the supplier couldn't handle the influx of orders
and belatedly processed the refund.

Meeting delivery deadlines is taken for granted,
so when you place an order, you trust it will be honored.
However, suppliers without ample
bulk delivery experience or systematic operations
may struggle to fulfill orders on time.

Of course, when making a reservation,
ensure all details are confirmed at least a week in advance.
There are additional orders for packaging materials and other things!
And choose a supplier
with extensive experience in bulk orders.
3. Sufficient Experience in Courier Delivery
(for separate address shipping)
This is somewhat related to point 2.
When you need to ship to multiple addresses,
there are many additional checks required.

Large companies with factory-style production have
well-established logistics systems,
but those opting for handcrafted desserts appreciate
their unique taste and quality,
despite the additional considerations.

As mentioned, many Korean dessert shops are small operations,
so they often don't have systems in place for bulk shipping
to multiple addresses in a short time.
(Some people I know still manually enter addresses.)
But for corporate year-end gifts, holiday gifts, etc.,
bulk purchases usually require direct shipping to recipients' homes,
sometimes involving hundreds of shipments within a day or two.

We started with an internal system capable of handling bulk orders,
but many places aren't realistically set up this way.
So, if you need separate address shipping,
make sure to choose a supplier
with extensive experience to avoid delivery delays.

4. Availability of Card Payments or Tax Invoices
Lastly, this is a minor but necessary point:
Some places only accept cash payments
or can't issue tax invoices.
Especially if you're purchasing with company or organization funds,
confirm this before signing any contracts!
We’ve briefly covered the essential points to check
when purchasing large quantities of handcrafted
Korean desserts as event favors or gifts.
Check everything thoroughly to ensure
both the giver and receiver are satisfied with the gift!

We strive to be the place that comes to mind
when you want to gift something special to someone important.
